Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions

How do we book?  Either direct by completing the enquiries form or via Airbnb or Booking.com.  We offer a discount for direct bookings as we can avoid their booking commission fees.

Are dogs welcome?  We welcome up to 2 dogs, free of charge.  Additional dogs may be considered, please contact us with your specific needs.

Are there good local places to eat?  The local pub Fishermans Return serves great food and is a few minutes walk from both properties.  There are lots of food options in the property manual, located on site.

Do you have travel cots?  There are 2 travel cots in each property as well as a high chair, stair gates, changing mats and lots of other family friendly items.  Please do get in touch if you have specific queries.

Can I get groceries delivered?  All of the major supermarkets deliver to Winterton on Sea so its easy to pre-book a delivery for when you arrive.  The local village store has a great array of fresh and frozen goods on offer as well as wines and spirits.

When will I receive check-in details?  In the week leading up to check in day, via email for direct bookings or via your booking partner.

Is there WiFi?  Both properties boost super fast WiFi, details for access can be found in the property manual.

Where can I park? Each property has dedicated private parking for 1 car, additional parking is available in the village.  Please be considerate of the local residents when parking on the road.  We would like to make you aware that we have CCTV in the parking area.

How do I get to Winterton on Sea? Norwich is 22 miles away and it takes around 30 minutes.  Take the A47 to Acle then the B1152 through Martham, West Somerton and East Somerton.  Turn off the Somerton Road, at the junction with Winterton church, left onto Black Street and onto the village centre.  From Great Yarmouth, take the A149 north in the direction of Caister, through Hemsby and Scratby, it is only 9 miles/20 minutes. 

What are the check-in/out times?  Check in is anytime after 16:00 hrs and check out time is by 10:00hrs.  We would be grateful if you can vacate the parking space on departure as the housekeeper requires it to park her car whilst she is onsite. 

Where do I collect the keys?  The keys are located in the key safe which is to the left of the front door and the access code is sent with your arrival information.  We suggest that you replace the keys every time you go out to avoid losing them in the dunes!  Please replace the keys into the key safe and on departure and remember to scramble the key box code at all times.   

What do we need to do before departure?  Just empty the kitchen waste bin and recycling into the appropriate wheelie bins, sweep out the ash from the fire (please don't use the vacuum as it clogs the filter), clean the BBQ if it was used and we would be very grateful if you can leave the property generally tidy.  If the oven has had splashes, we would be grateful if they can be wiped before they dry. No need to strip the beds.

Where are the bins located? They are to the rear and the black one is for general rubbish, the  green is for recycling, please do not put general rubbish in the green recycling bin as the council will refuse to collect it. Crush all materials especially plastic bottles, cardboard, cans, etc as the bins are only collected on alternate Wednesday mornings so this helps with the volume. 

Can I cancel due to illness? Please refer to the cancellation policy on your booking.   We urge all guests to take out travel insurance and we will support any claims with the necessary information if you can't travel. 

How do I use the EV Chargers? We’ve installed a pay-as-you-go EV charger in our parking space, connection to the mains electricity supply is strictly not permitted. Download the Project EV Pro App before arrival, pre-authorize £10 on your credit card (refundable), and use the unique code from the property manual to get started.  

Who owns the properties?  The properties are privately owned by Paul & Orla Machin.

Can I extend my stay?  Please get in touch and if we can arrange it, we will.

Can I book again for next year?  Send us your preferred dates via the enquiries page and we will quote.  We have many return visitors year after year and offer available dates to our direct booking guests as a priority over the major booking sites.
